All people involved in the Caramut Football Netball club have a right to participate in a healthy, supportive and safe environment. Everyone involved with the CFNC play their part in creating this environment, which will continue to attract people to participate in various aspects of Club life. These Codes set a standard of conduct and behavior for all participants, and also reflects how we would all like to be treated by others; that is, fairly, equally and with respect and dignity.
Everyone who claims an association with the Club respects the rights, dignity and worth of others. PLAYERS Play by the rules The rules of our Club and the laws of the game. Play by the rules and the spirit of the game whether you are winning or losing. Never argue with an umpire or other official. Without these people, you cannot play sport. Do not question their judgements or honesty. Control your temper Verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players doesn’t help you enjoy or win any games. Be a team player. It's a team game, treat it that way. Treat all players, officials and volunteers as you would like to be treated With respect, understanding and decency. Cooperate with your coach, the umpires and team mates – Listen to coaches and respect their authority. Support all players during training and on game day. – Create positive relationships within the team and Club. – Make it a priority to support and cheer other CFNC teams and players. Play for your own enjoyment and to improve your skills Don’t use ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or ability - you will let down your coach, teammates and family if you do and many such comments are illegal. Physical abuse or verbal abuse of club participants, other clubs supporters or officials is not acceptable behavior - and could be subject to referral to the Complaints Officer and/or action by the League’s Tribunal.
As a person representing Caramut Football Netball Club as a player, you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any activity held or sanctioned by Caramut Football Netball Club.
• Respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow players, coaches, officials and spectators.
• Respect the talent, potential and development of fellow players and competitors.
• Care and respect the uniform and equipment provided to you.
• Be frank and honest with your coach concerning illness and injury and your ability to train and play fully.
• Maintain a high standard of personal behaviour at all times.
• Abide by the rules and respect the decision of the umpires. Be courteous and use the correct process when seeking a rule clarification.
• Be honest in your attitude and preparation to training. Work equally hard for yourself and your team.
• Cooperate with coaches and staff in relation to programs that adequately prepare you for competition.
• Participate fairly and safely.
• Co-operate with your coach and other players at all times.
• Verbal abuse of officials or other players is not acceptable or permitted.
• Treat all players as you would like to be treated.
• Ensure that at all times your behaviour is fair.
• Be a patient and enthusiastic supporter of fellow players.
• Applaud all good play, by your own team and opponents.
• Respect and acknowledge the contribution of those who create the opportunity for you to play. (scorers, coaches, timekeepers, administrators and umpires)
• Refrain from any behaviour that may bring the Club into disrepute.
• Show concern and caution towards others who may be sick or injured.
• Report any grievances promptly to the team coach or the Netball Co-Ordinator/ Director of Football, to be dealt with confidentially using appropriate procedures.
• Maintain the confidentiality of matters between you as a Club Player and the Club Committee at all times and respect that confidentiality.
• Understand the repercussions if you breach, or are aware of any breaches of this Code of Conduct.
• Set the example by role modeling integrity and fairness.
• Be consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions.
• Condemn unsporting behavior and bullying and promote fair play and respect for all.
• Do not tolerate behavior that may incite players and spectators against any official or spectator.
• Compliment and encourage players and participants in all club activities.
• Emphasize the spirit of the game rather than concentrate on negatives.
• Accept individual and collective responsibility for the Club's performance.
• Ensure that the time spent with players is a positive experience.
• Display control, professionalism and respect towards all involved with the game.
• Operate within the rules and spirit of the game, teaching players to do the same.
• Be demanding but reasonable on the player's time, energy and enthusiasm.
• Treat each person as an individual - all players deserve attention and opportunity.
• Accept the authority of umpires and game officials.
• Do not tolerate behavior that may incite players and spectators against any official or spectator.
• Ensure that all equipment, facilities and training practices meet safety standards.
• Obtain the appropriate qualifications and keep up with sporting best practice.
• Undertake your duties according to the rules of the sport and the policies of the Club.
• Accept individual and collective responsibility for the Club's performance.
• Respect the rules of the game and the decision of officials/umpires and encourage players to do so.
• Acknowledge good performances and efforts from all individuals and the team - encourage all players on their performance regardless of the outcome.
• Condemn the use of violence in any form, whether it is by other spectators, coaches, officials or players.
• Show respect for the opposition - without them there would be no game.
• Support. Spirited support is welcome. The use of foul language, or the sledging or harassment of officials, players or coaches is not welcome.
• CFNC chooses to maintain a smoke free environment.
• The Club adheres to all legislative requirements in regard to the provision of smoke free environments.
• No smoking signage will be displayed to reflect non-smoking areas accordingly.
In the event that a member, player, official or volunteer is found guilty of a criminal act, the President, after consultation with the Club Committee may impose sanctions. These sanctions include, but are not limited to: education, counseling, suspension and termination. The extent of the sanction will be determined by:
• Nature of the criminal offense
• Position the person holds within the Club
• Reputational damage to the Club
